Overview
Neverus Tribe is a small village hidden in the canyon between the Hills of Sanctus and Blackeagle Fortress. It has no icon on the Namarian Map, and can only be reached via Blue Crystal teleportation once discovered.
Note: in the highly unlikely event you do not pick up the Crystal Fragment, you will be unable to continue the story upon reaching this area.
History & Current Role
The Neverus Tribe was once a grand and powerful society living all across the lands now known as Namaria. The Neverus were the protectors of magic. Long ago however, humans became determined to learn and use the secrets of magic. This was not only dangerous, but would destroy the Nerverus way of life and reproduction. To protect themselves and their magic, the Neverus went to war with the current Namarian Kingdom. The current Neverus Tribe village is where the few survivors of the war live in secret.
Despite their mastery of magic, the Neverus found themselves rapidly falling to the Namarians. With defeat imminent, the Neverus soldiers triggered a catastrophic event that led to the formation of a massive rift in the land, and supposedly their own final destruction. The area above the canyon, in which the village is now hidden, was the location of the final legendary battle between the Neverus Tribe and Kingdom of Namaria.
After the war had ended, only the Sanctus Fortress and a number of magically controlled suits of Neverus armor that ceased functioning remained. The fortress was left standing as a reminder of what took place on that day, while the seemingly disabled pieces of armor were taken to Castle Aideen as trophies...
After his second defeat at the hands of Altum, the Dark Knight, Kai, along with his friends, are tossed into the same abyss in which the Neverus were believed to have met their end. After wandering in an unfamiliar world that turned out to be a dream constructed by the mysterious woman, Naluna, Kai finds himself in a small community deep within the land. It is here that he learns that Emperor Bastorahl is not, in fact, the last remaining member of the Neverus tribe; as Naluna reveals herself, as well as the few others living in the village to be Neverus.
As Kai learns more about the history of the Neverus, the origin of Shadow Spikes and monsters, and even his own past... he and Naluna deduce that Bastorahl's next move will be to use the still operational Armor suits to attack Grand Aideen from within. Kai soon leaves the Neverus "survivors" and their small home through the nearby Blue Crystal.
