Overview
Located Southeast of Grand Aideen. Kai can purchase the land for use as a second home, bringing in merchants, and displaying collected paintings. Initially the area is run down and has only a small cabin with two fenced off areas.
Purchasing Greenfield
Inspecting the sign immediately south of the lone shack allows Kai to purchase Greenfield Lands.
- Option: Purchase land
- Cost: 12,000 gold
- Requirements: None
- Effects: Kai gains the deed to Greenfield and can enter, and use, the lone house. Allows Kai to begin upgrading the land and buildings. Grants Kai the title of "Duke of Greenfield" allowing him to visit Duchess Velvetta at her mansion. Allows Kai to pick up and store paintings. Chrono will move into the upstairs bedroom if retrieved by Kai. Personal Assistant will move into the first floor if Kai is a Heroes Guild member.
Upgrades
Upgrading changes the look and functionality of Greenfield Lands, and is accomplished by inspecting signs posted in the area. Sufficiently upgrading the land will allow Kai to further expand the buildings of Greenifeld.
Outdoors
- Option: Build a Fence
- Cost: 2,000 gold
- Requirements: Purchase Land
- Effects: Builds fences south of the main building. Buying either this upgrade or Building allows the Trees upgrade.
- Option: Expand Building
- Cost: 8,000 gold
- Requirements: Purchase Land
- Effects: Adds more space to the main building. Buying either this upgrade or Build a Fence allows the Trees upgrade. Buying this upgrade with the House Quality and Furniture upgrades opens up new painting slots inside the house.
- Option: Add Trees
- Cost: 4,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy either the Building upgrade or the Fence upgrade outside
- Effects: Puts trees on the property. Changes the name of the Building upgrade to House upgrade if not already purchased.
- Option: Upgrade Road
- Cost: 2,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy any two outside upgrades.
- Effects: Changes the roads from dirt to cobblestone.
- Option: Upgrade Land
- Cost: 8,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy all previous outside upgrades.
- Effects: Alters external look of house, fence, adds flowers, makes grass taller, unlocks Details, Guest House and Merchant Guild upgrades outside.
- Option: Add Details
- Cost: 4,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy Land upgrade
- Effects: Adds details to the area as indicated, such as street lights, bushes and barrels near the house.
- Option: Add Merchant Guild
- Cost: 5,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy Land upgrade
- Effects: Adds Merchant Guild building, allows the player to hire item merchant, gift merchant, materials merchant and blacksmith. Allows
- Option: Add Guest House
- Cost: 8,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy Land upgrade
- Effects: Builds guest house, allows Interior guest house upgrade and Art Gallery upgrade in guest house.
- Option: Pigs (4 total)
- Cost: 1,500 gold per pig (6,000 total)
- Requirements: Build a Fence
- Effects: Pigs appear in the Southwest fenced in closure
- Option: Horses (3 total)
- Cost: 5,000 gold per Horse brought at Rugwart's Ranch (15,000 total)
- Requirements: Talk to Rugwart in his house on the 2nd floor
- Effects: Horses appear in the big fenced in closure
- Gold statues of Opala,Osira and Farah
- Cost: 5,000 gold each
- Requirment: Need house and done the Gold digger quest in solheim then the blacksmith can make the statues for some fee.
NOTE: When all external upgrades are purchased, the upgrade sign simply says, "The land of [playername]"
Main House Interior
- Option: Upgrade House Quality
- Cost: 5,000 gold
- Requirements: Purchase Land
- Effects: Inside of house looks cleaner, less rustic.
- Option: Add Furniture
- Cost: 3,000 gold
- Requirements: Purchase Land
- Effects: Adds non-functional furniture to inside of house.
Guest House Interior
- Option: Add Art Gallery
- Cost: 10,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy Guest House
- Effects: Allows player to hang up paintings in Art Gallery in the basement of the Guest House.
- Option: Upgrade Interior
- Cost: 3,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy Guest House
- Effects: Allows the player to hang up smaller paintings in the first floor of the guest house.
Merchant's Guild Interior

- Requirements: Buy Merchant's Guild
- Effects: Makes the Merchant's Guild look less rustic.
- Option: Add Item Shopkeeper
- Cost: 2,400 gold
- Requirements: Buy membership to Guild of Heroes (buy at Guild), Merchant's Guild upgrade bought.
- Effects: Can buy potions, stones, etc. at Greenfield Lands in the Merchant's Guild
- Option: Add Materials Shopkeeper
- Cost: 2,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy membership to Guild of Heroes (purchase services at Guild), Merchant's Guild upgrade bought.
- Effects: Can buy simple and complex sub-arms, weapons, etc.
- Option: Add Gift Shopkeeper
- Cost: 1,200 gold
- Requirements: Buy membership to Guild of Heroes (purchase services at Guild), Merchant's Guild upgrade bought.
- Effects: Can buy quest log, bestiary and art book, magical growth and shrink, first level hunting/mining/treasure hunting equipment and a wide assortment of regular gift items.
- Option: Add Blacksmith
- Cost: 5,000 gold
- Requirements: Buy membership to Guild of Heroes (purchase services at Guild), Merchant's Guild upgrade bought.
- Effects: Can forge bronze, iron, silver and steel metals and soft, rabbit, hard and wolf fabrics. Unlocks first smith upgrade.
- Note: Blacksmith upgrades are not cumulative. If you upgrade to level 2 smithing he will no longer be able to smith anything he could make at level 1.
- Option: Upgrade Blacksmith I
- Cost: 2,000 gold
- Requirements: Own blacksmith
- Effects: Blacksmith now can only forge gold, platinum, mithril and titanium equipment as well as fiber, leather, tiger and bear cloth items.
- Option: Upgrade Blacksmith II
- Cost: 5,000 gold
- Requirements: Finish Dreadclaw quest, completed first blacksmith upgrade.
- Effects: Blacksmith can now only forge diamond, titanium and quartz equipment as well as bear and broncallo cloth items.
- Option: Upgrade Blacksmith III
- Cost: 12,000
- Requirment: Finish Nabonaga quest, completed second blacksmith upgrade
- Effect: Blacksmith can now only make quartz and metorite equipment as well as broncallo and snake cloth items.
